The Volture is a power utility pedal designed to perform Voltage Sagging—reducing the electrical voltage delivered to other analog effects pedals.It is inspired by a vintage guitarist’s secret trick of using a dying 9V battery to achieve unique sonic characteristics, especially in Fuzz pedals.This voltage reduction creates a distinct tone: a sputtery, gated, and often harmonically rich distortion or fuzz sound that many players associate with classic, vintage gear.It allows the player to precisely and consistently dial in the “sweet spot” of a dying battery sound without the hassle and inconsistency of using actual drained batteries.The Volture is connected between the main power supply and the analog effect pedal whose voltage needs to be starved (e.g., Fuzz, Overdrive, Distortion).

Technical Features & Usage

The Volture can accept an input voltage from 9VDC up to 18VDC and output an adjustable voltage, typically ranging from around 7.5VDC down to 1.25VDC. It features a single, large Voltage Knob to precisely dial in the amount of output voltage reduction. Lowering the voltage increases the starved/sputtery effect.It includes a footswitch to engage the voltage sagging function.
