As an audio company with deep ties to the guitar community, we firmly believe that the high-quality materials and asymmetrical edges of hand-crafted picks offer a superior playing experience. However, the high labor costs of hand-made picks result in higher prices, preventing many guitar enthusiasts from experiencing this superior feel. This led us to consider whether we could leverage our design and manufacturing capabilities to retain the advantages of hand-crafted picks while significantly reducing production costs. In doing so, we aim to lower the price and ensure that every guitarist can experience the improved feel of a better pick and fully enjoy playing the guitar.

45-Degree Gradual Asymmetrical Bevel

The edge is crucial to a pick’s performance; the larger the contact area, the better. An asymmetrical edge design effectively increases the contact area, but typically, only expensive, hand-finished picks feature this, leading to high costs and a lack of consistency. The Flying Fish pick utilizes high-precision 3D modeling and mechanical simulations, with numerous prototypes leading to an exceptional 45-degree gradual asymmetrical bevel. This innovative molding process enhances the shape, precision, and consistency of an industrially produced bevel, taking its performance to the next level.

Innovative Mold Design

With extensive experience in the headphone industry, NF AUDIO has mastered plastic mold design. To solve the critical issues of traditional picks, such as mold lines and injection points, Flying Fish employs innovative molding techniques. This includes improvements to the mold structure, fractal textures, flow channels, gates, and vents. The result is a contact area free of mold lines and with a minimal injection point. Combined with high-precision injection molding, the product delivers precision and a user experience superior to traditional picks.

Anti-Slip Surface, 3 Levels of Roughness

The picking and gripping areas of a pick require different textures: a smooth contact surface and a rough grip. The tip of the Flying Fish pick features an electrochemical polish for faster string release. Inspired by the new NF AUDIO logo, the anti-slip design incorporates two laser-etched textures, VD18 and VD133, for a comfortable and perfectly balanced feel.

1.5mm Thickness, Suitable for a Variety of Styles
