History of the PRS Studio 22
Origins of the Studio Series
The PRS Studio is part of PRS’s Core lineup, designed with the concept of a “single–single–humbucker” (S-S-H) configuration — two single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions combined with a humbucker at the bridge.
The Studio’s hallmark is its tonal versatility. It can deliver pristine cleans as well as powerful, aggressive drive tones. This flexibility is made possible by a 5-way blade switch and a push/pull tone control, providing up to seven distinct tonal options.

Body: Mahogany back with a carved Maple “Violin” top
Neck: Mahogany set neck (one-piece), with options for Pattern Thin or Pattern profile depending on production year
