The “Probe” Interface: Theremin-Style Fuzz Control

The most defining feature of the Fuzz Probe is its 3.5″ x 4.5″ copper antenna plate on the face of the pedal. This plate functions as a proximity sensor, much like a theremin. As you move your foot, hand, or any other object closer to or further away from this plate, you gain real-time, expressive control over the ‘Stab’ (Stability) parameter of the Fuzz Factory circuit. This allows you to instantly manipulate the fuzz’s pitch, oscillation, and feedback screams on the fly, creating wild, interactive sound effects that are impossible with a standard knob. It turns the pedal into a performance instrument in its own right.

The Core Circuit: A Versatile Fuzz Factory

At its heart, the Fuzz Probe is a classic ZVEX Fuzz Factory. This is a highly revered silicon fuzz circuit known for its massive range, from tight, classic fuzz tones to splattery, gated Velcro sounds and self-oscillating chaos.
