The AKG MK HS Studio D is a cable that converts your headphones into a headset, similar to the Studio C model, but with key differences in microphone type and connector design, made for use with different headphone series, as follows:

Key features

• For dynamic microphones: This cable is designed for use with AKG HSD series headphones (such as HSD271, HSD171) which are equipped with a dynamic microphone.

• No Phantom Power Required: Because it’s designed for dynamic microphones, it can be plugged in and used immediately without needing to activate +48V phantom power like the Studio C model (which uses condenser microphones).

• The headphone connector is a 6-pin Mini XLR: This is very important because the Studio D model uses a 6-pin connector to completely separate the headphone and microphone audio signals (unlike typical headphone cables that use 3-pin).

• Coiled cable design: Prevents the cable from snagging or tangling during movement, increasing flexibility in a broadcasting room or studio.
