With its taller 51″ height and newly-designed scale, the K-500 offers a rare combination of power, dynamic range and tonal richness to meet the musical demands of any studio environment. This is a formable acoustic piano as well featuring ABS action parts resistant to humidity and stress, as well as T stapled Hammers which create the optimal curve and angle of wool to strike the string, this creates an exceptional tone for an upright piano. Also, the keys themselves feature a Note composite which mimics Ivory keys for added grip.

The design of the piano is great for students and professionals as the music rest extends a full 40 inches above the keys, giving lots of room for books, extended pieces, or ballads with 8+ pages. The keys themselves are also longer and feel as if you are playing a grand piano with precision balance and attack when played. Often piano keys can stick as the key slip (the wood below the keys swells or warps from the environment or repeated stress, on the Kawai uprights, there is a steel-reinforced plate which keeps this space clear and prevents sticking keys for the life of the piano
