The DL16 utilizes AES50 ethernet connectivity to transmit pristine 24-bit digital audio and control data over a single shielded CAT5 cable. This allows you to place DL16s at the stage and at monitor world, then run one cable to the Midas digital console without signal degradation. AES50 provides super low latency, clock synchronization between devices and redundancy for uninterrupted operation. No more heavy, tangled analog snake cables—just run a slim ethernet cable for outstanding audio quality and reliability.

Seamless Integration via Ultranet Protocol

Midas’ acclaimed Ultranet protocol enables the DL16 to integrate seamlessly with other Ultranet devices like the Behringer X32 mixer, P16-M personal monitors and S16 stage box. Ultranet allows up to 16 channels of 24-bit digital audio, control data and power to be transmitted over a single CAT5 cable. This delivers a unified digital ecosystem with centralized control and plug-and-play operation between compatible Midas gear. The DL16’s Ultranet output effortlessly connects to P16-M monitor mixers for in-ear control right from the stage.

Versatile ADAT Connectivity

The DL16 provides ADAT digital outputs in addition to AES50, giving you added flexibility. The ADAT connection allows you to output 16 channels to an external recorder to capture multitrack recordings of your shows. Alternately, by connecting an ADAT-equipped D/A converter like the Behringer ADA8200, you can access 16 extra analog outputs when more are needed. This makes the DL16 invaluable both for stage use and in the recording studio.
