A faithful approach to the SM7B and its warm, rich vocal sound, the SM7dB adds an in-line preamp when used with phantom power, this preamp offers 18 or 28 dB of transparent gain for appropriate levels for direct recording, as well as a bypass mode for original SM7B sound.

Preamp aside, the SM7dB provides the exact same performance, sound quality, and circuitry as the SM7B, giving the warm, familiar broadcast sound that has become a studio, podcast, and content standard.
