The 8 lugs reduce weight and produce an open tone, with a clean, one-piece design and bridge construction for minimal shell contact, allowing more natural resonance from the drum.

Die-cast hoops provide durability and a focused tone, with three air holes around the shell providing more focus and a balanced 360-degree projection. With a flat snare bottom for greater sensitivity and cut, the Tama STAR walnut snare provides plenty of low-end boom with enough high frequency to cut through the mix.
